WHAT Como House Family Fun DayWHEN Tomorrow, 10am-4pmWHERE Como House, corner Lechlade Avenue and Williams Road, South YarraCOST Adults $12; concession $9; under 12s freeBUILT in 1847, Como House was designed by Melbourne-defining architect Arthur E. Johnson. Surrounded by sloping lawns, pine and cypress glades and a magnificent fountain terrace, this imposing estate mansion was where Melbourne's social elite would present for ballroom dancing and billiards in the late 19th century.Tomorrow, however, you don't have to be a blazer-sporting croquet player with a secret yearning for the colonial way of life to set foot in Como's manicured grounds. In celebration of its acquisition by the National Trust 50 years ago, Como Family Fun Day launches the Treasures in Trust exhibition, a curious and delightful walk down memory lane featuring rare Robert Hoddle watercolours, the personal memorabilia of Joan Lindsay and some mesmerising works by Arthur Boyd.
