Protest At Farm Gets Hen Check

VETERINARIANS will inspect a Buchanan poultry farm after 30 animal liberation protesters chained themselves to cages at the property.

Animal Liberation's Mark Pearson said vets from the group, owner Pace Farm, the RSPCA and Department of Primary Industries would inspect the battery hen farm within 10 days.

The protesters left with a police escort at 10am on Wednesday after reaching the inspection agreement.

A Pace spokeswoman said she did not understand what concerns the group had about the hens.
